Should We Be Worried?
As mentioned above, many of our clients are concerned. Several times a week, we hear the question, “What are your thoughts on a potential recession?” When looking at what the canaries in the coal mine are saying about if a recession is imminent, there are still more positive signs than negative ones. The underlying economy is strong. Although the yield curve is inverting and inflation is at a 40-year high, we appear to be at a peak that will not last long with energy prices beginning to drop.
What is FAANG?
FAANG is the acronym for the five tech stocks that led the market’s growth in the late 2010’s, which included Facebook, Amazon, Apple, Netflix, Alphabet (Google). Since the rise of FAANG, those in the market have been obsessed with finding the next one. After receiving an email that claimed to have found the new “FAANG,” which included fuel, agriculture, aerospace/defense, natural resources, and gold/metals, Ryan started to think about the areas where the next FAANG might be hiding. To give you a hint of areas Ryan believes are prime for investing, we’ll use the acronym CB5. Attend the webinar or stay tuned for after the event for the breakdown of these three categories.
